Can anyone recommend a cruise websites with unboased customer reviews?

Looking for unbiased reviews of Cruise Ships (mainly, Carnival Fascination) and also reviews of the excursions.

Also, any other tips and advice that relate to our cruise vacation on Carnival Fascination are also appreciated.

Thank you all in advance for your answers.

Answer :
i dont know where your shp is going but we were on this ship last year and we loved key west and we just walked around. we also went to cozsmel and just went to the beach. i have been on other carnival cruises and this was the most disapointing ship to us. there is a club called passage to india which was alot of fun and the rooms are spacious and the beds are comfy. the food is decent, i recommend the prime rib. the buffets are ok nothing to write home to. the atrium reminds me of colors from a shopping mall. the casino is good we actually won some money off of it. there is a little cafe that you can buy cakes etc... the choc cake is to die for. like i said it is an older and smaller ship but it is still worth the vaule. i would go to cruisecritic.com there are alot of reviews of this ship on there. have fun

All excellent and extremely helpful answers... it seemed impossible to choose a best one... thanks to everyone for the helpful advice and links.

Answer :
Hi. I would definitely check out cruisecritic.com for information, and check out the boards for more information and past cruise reviews on that site are extremely helpful. Also just because one person doesnt like something doesnt mean that you wont either. Be open minded. Also, you can check out Yahoo Travel as they also get reviews from people. Also some other major travel sites have their cruise ships rated from people who have booked that cruise and have cruised on that ship before. One word of advice though, the Fascination is a much older and smaller ship then the ships they have now, but they might have upgraded or refurbished the ship so dont underestimate the ship, and you will have a great time..

Answer :
cruisecritic is probably the most unbiased place to check. I have been on the Fascination before its renovation and will be going back on it again in September. I found the ship small enough to navigate and learn your way around, which is helpful on a 4 day Cruise. The service was awsome and we had a great time. Enjoy

Answer :
There ain't no such thing. Everyone is biased, and that is all that there is too it. All you can do is read the reviews, and see if what they are saying is relevant to what you are looking for.

Answer :
Cruise forums have reviews written by members who have no connection to any of the cruise lines.

Here is a link to Cruise Addicts' reviews ...

There are some books that also provide reviews. Two books I recommend are:

The Unofficial Guide to Cruises by Kay Showker and
the Complete Guide to Cruising & Cruise Ships by Douglas Ward

Go with the first answer- cruisecritic.com they have lots of great information about any ship along with the ports of call, etc...

Does anyone know how I could get in touch with a certain cruise ship director?

I am searching for a cruise director named Felipe Couto. He usually is on Carnival Inspiration but is currently on Carnival Fascination. I know that much but don't know how to get in touch with him in order to get a personal message to him. I have been Googling all day with no luck. Any help would be great!

Answer :
Contact the company.
He may not want his address given out to the public.

Everyone's answers were awesome and it was hard to choose just one so I just chose the first one I received and I did just that and they gave me a mailing address they said would get a letter to him personally. Thank you all!

Answer :
Contact carnival, they will not give out any of his personal information (phone / address etc), but they may tell you what ship he is on. I you write to their local office which the ship is sailing from, they will be able to get the message to him.

Answer :
Send him a letter. Cruise lines generally forbid employee/passenger relationships so they don't make getting in touch with their employees easy.

Maybe if you call 1-888-CARNIVAL somebody there would be able to tell you.

Send a letter to him at the company's main office, and they will forward it to him.

What's free on Carnival Fascintation?

My fiance and I haven't booked our cruise yet, but we're really interested in going on one for our honeymoon this October. The cruise we're looking at is the Carnival Fascination going to Key West, FL and Nassau, Bahamas. We're all new to this and i'm still a little confused about food and drinks on the cruise and what's free and what's not. I've read room service is free and i've read the buffet is free.

Answer :
I just went on the Carnival Fascination for my honeymoon last May.
Room service is free and all food is free. Alcoholic drinks do cost, but they are not outrageous like I thought they might be. Soft drinks are not free either, you can purchase a coke pass i think it was like 30.00 something dollars but i am not sure and then its all you can drink sodas the whole trip you just go to the bar or wherever and show them you pass. Water, lemonade and tea are all free.

Also just some advice if yall are wanting to book any excursions for Key West or Nassau do it the first chance you get when you get on the ship, or I believe you can do it online, they go super fast, and you may not get to do the stuff you want to do. In Key West we went on a glass bottom boat, and had alot of fun, although I wish we would have not booked anything in Key West and just walked around. In Nassau we went to Black Beards Island and snorkeled with stingray and rode jet ski, that was awesome and beautiful. We also rented a little scooter thing, and rode around, I really think you should book an excursion or something in Nassau because in my opinion you get to see more of the island that way.
Make sure to take extra money with you for all the pictures they take on the ship, because they turn out really good and you will want all of them!! They can get quite expensive!
I hope you guys have a great time!!! and congrats on your marriage!
I hope I was able to help a little bit!

Answer :
FULL service and buffet... no extra charge restaurants on Fascination. http://www.cruisecritic.com/reviews/revi… link for reviews. MANY other ships have "specialty" restaurants that charge $20 per person to get in, but you NEVER have to go because there are so many other choices (NOTE- this is NOT an option on Fascination, but on many other ships). "Main" dining is a sit down, full service meal served to you from a full menu- appetizers, salad/ soup, entree, deserts.

All you can eat, including lobster and steak. You will pay for soda and beer/wine /booze. Tea (hot and cold), coffee, and sometimes lemonade are free, and served at meals.

You can eat forever... don't worry... lots of choices.

Answer :
Now that you have your answers. I HIGHLY recommend going on the Key West Pub crawl!! I don't know if they offer that excursion from the Fascination but we did it on another Carnival ship and had soooo much fun. Captain Ron the leader was great and really funny.

Answer :
Drinks u have to pay like wine and soda but if u just drink lemonade and tea theres a machine. Food theres a 24 hour pizza and icecream so it doesnt really matter. The resurant foods are free.

Answer :
 Included items:

Buffet
All Ship restaurants
All shows
pizza station
ice cream

Hope I helped!

Carnival's Fascination Ship...?

My friend & I (ages 28 & 25) are going on a cruise in October to Nassau & Half Moon Cay, Bahamas(5 day cruise). We want to go to Atlantis to swim with dolphins in Nassau & also want to snorkel at some point... Any suggestions of where we should snorkel at? We are both super stoked, neither of us have ever been on a cruise before. Any other suggestions about the boat or either of the ports? P.S. How much are alcoholic drinks on the boat? :)

Answer :
I went on the exact same cruise last year for spring break. I think the excursion you have planned for Nassau will be lots of fun. We went on some sting ray thing when we were there, and it was pretty disappointing. Half moon cay is SOOO beautiful. It is Carnival's private island. If they had snorkeling there it would probably be very pretty. Otherwise, this is a great place to just have a beach day. They drop you off right on the beach, and since it is their private island, the beverage crew from on board is also on the island...really convenient. They also provide you with lunch. I think Grand Turks would be a really good place to snorkel as well. We had that planned, but it got canceled because of some rain, so we got a city tour and kayaking thing. It was pretty fun. So in short, I would stick with that excursion for Nassau, do a beach day in Half Moon Cay and then finish off your trip with snorkeling in Grand Turks.
Also, if I recall beers on board were about 5.75ish, the specialty drink was 6.95 and I can't remember how much wine was...sorry.

Answer :
talk to the staff about snorkeling. they'll be able to give you all the pointers and places you want, with up to date season information and everything.

they should also be able to recommend places on the island. the people that work on these ships are literally in these ports once a week for 6 month stretches.
